Marilyn Monroe?s iconic dress from the movie ?Seven Year Itch? brought in $4.6 at auction, in a collection of memorabilia belonging to actress Debbie Reynolds.
The white dress that Marilyn Monroe wore during a scene where a gust of wind from the subway blows up her dress, showing her panties, sold for a huge hunk of change.
Debbie Reynolds joked with the crowd of bidders, stating, ?I?ve been collecting for 45 years and I?m only 40.?
Debbie got the dress in 1971 when she bought all of Marilyn?s wardrobe from studio 20th Century Fox. The actress held onto her collection for as long as possible but keeping up the items had driven her into debt.
Some of the other items that were auctioned included Elizabeth Taylor?s ?National Velvet? outfit, which sold for $60,000 and Charlie Chaplin?s bowler hat brought in $135,000.
The buyer?s identities weren?t revealed, but several are said to have been based in Saudi Arabia and Japan.
