Heavy traffic expected around Cal State Long Beach for graduation events

LONG BEACH - Motorists should be wary of heavy traffic expected around Cal State Long Beach today through Friday due to graduation events.

Heavy traffic is expected between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. all three days, especially on Palo Verde Avenue between Anaheim Road and the San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Compounding the problem for motorists coming into town is that the Seventh Street connector bridge from the northbound 405 and the Garden Grove (22) Freeway is closed. Motorists who use Palo Verde Avenue and especially those attending graduation events should allow for extra travel time.
